On this same trip we went to Chicago. We drove forever to see the house my father was raised in. I have a painting that I did of my dad on these same steps in front of this same door when he was a baby.

I loved Chicago. I had no idea it was such a neat city. I thought it would be more like New York but it wasn't at all. It actually had lots of normal people and families walking around the streets--Not something you see in New York City. We visited when Emily lived there and there were always free community things going on in the parks. That's also when we went to Nauvoo. Joanne
